Description

After the initial pairing, the remote controls up to 5 Tactacam 5.0 or Fish-i cameras with one button. Functions include Power On, Auto Record, Pause and Off, and when not recording it conserves batteries with the auto power-off feature. All cameras and the remote power down after 3 minutes when not recording, and they all power back on just as fast with a push of the Tactacam remote button.

Tactacam remote technology gives you the feedback you need on an LCD screen: number of connected cameras, record length and remote battery life. The green LED indicates Recording, Pause/On and Off. The remote has been optimized at 100 feet, giving you distance and control over your cameras.

Remote Operation

To get started, link your Tactacam 6.0, 5.0, Solo Xtreme, or Fish-i and remote.

  1. Power on the camera and remote, then pause both.
  2. On the camera, place one finger on the mode button and one on the Power/Record button.
  3. Within 2 seconds, push and hold the mode button followed by the power/record button. The remote connection number increases by 1. If this is the first camera synced, a 1 is displayed on the remote.

Once linked, your remote operates the camera from the OFF position. When you push the remote button, the linked camera(s) power on and start recording. The green blinking LED on the remote and cameras indicates recording, and the recording length is shown on the remote display. To stop, push the remote power/record button and all connected cameras stop and save their recording. From there you can push once to start all recording, push and hold to power everything off, or do nothing and all units power off after 3 minutes to optimize battery life.

This remote makes operating the Tactical 6.0 much easier. You have to set up your shooting mode from the camera screen or the app on your phone or iPad first then pair the camera with the remote only once. From then on you can turn on the camera and record with the push of the button and turn off the camera by holding down for a few seconds. This is really helpful especially withe the camera mounted below the barrel as on a shotgun. Although the screen on the 6.0 is nice it is pretty useless as it faces up against the barrel and is hard to see and operate. It's better to use the app for setup and the remote for activation while in the field.

The mount and the remote I bought from you guys are working great. The tacacam cameras that my son got some somewhere else are not working so great. Cameras keep shutting off when we shoot so I have no shots to send you. Sorry. Also got so bad that the caps popped off and batteries were lost 2 foot of water in a lake so now I don’t have cameras that work. But Your mount and remote worked nicely. Thank you.
