Common Questions
Does the DEFEND 360 need Wi-Fi?
No. It connects over 4G LTE cellular, so it works anywhere with cell coverage. The built-in eSIM automatically picks the strongest network in your area, regardless of your personal phone carrier.
Do I have to add it to my phone plan?
No. DEFEND data plans are separate subscriptions managed in the DEFEND app, starting at $5 per month with no activation fees.
How is it powered?
A rechargeable battery and a detachable solar panel both come in the box. With the panel in decent sun, the battery stays topped off and the camera runs continuously.
What is the difference between the DEFEND 360 and the standard DEFEND CAM?
The 360 adds motorized pan, tilt, and zoom. Instead of a fixed field of view, you can aim the camera from the app at any time and sweep the entire site in live view.
How is DEFEND different from REVEAL?
REVEAL cameras are built for hunting and wildlife scouting. DEFEND cameras run on the same proven cellular platform but are purpose-built for property security, with detection zones, remote aiming, and an app designed around monitoring.
How do I check the battery level?
Tap the camera in the DEFEND app. Battery status is shown for each camera on your account.
Why does the solar panel detach?
Placement flexibility. If the camera's mounting spot is shaded, you can mount the panel separately in direct sun and keep the camera exactly where you need it.
Will it work outside the United States?
No. The DEFEND 360 is built for US cellular networks and is not intended for international use.

The camera is great. I was having problems with my account. I called the service center and had the most knowledgeable, polite, and wonderful young man address my account. I'm 71 and sences are not as keen as when I was younger. Ian was so patient with me, didn't rush me, and made sure I understood the process. I have NEVER had this level of customer service. Ian is to be commended for his outstanding customer service.

Sell a better product and improve the customer support
First and foremost, it would have been good to know that there were no returns or refunds. I have a camera that doesn't pick up any motion and has yet to record a video. Not happy with the performance at all and on top of the $152 price tag I am also out $175 for the data plan. Very disappointing. I will not recommend this camera or a purchase from your site with no return or refund policy in place and an expensive lesson learned.
It doesn’t rotate to motion. I would have bought another fixed one and saved $50. The 360° feature offers no more added security. The instruction also don’t clearly state how to set the direction in which you’d like the camera to capture. Also my ring shows an area that the motion will capture. I have a lot more in the frame than the motion will capture.
The cameras do not auto rotate with motion. I have to use a live view to rotate camera. Price is too much for the service not to be unlimited. Once I get power to my office building, I will cancel this account, remove cameras and install Ring devices, such as the ones at my home.
You should advertise more clearly what the monthly subscription options and costs are. I thought it was only $7 for live video but that was for still pictures. You should also make your No Return policy more prominent and noticeable.
