Common Questions
Do I need a subscription to use the inReach features?
The Montana 750i works as a full GPS out of the box. To use two-way satellite messaging, tracking and interactive SOS, you activate an inReach satellite plan — flexible monthly or annual options are available directly through Garmin.
How accurate is the navigation?
It tracks on both GPS and Galileo satellite networks with a high-sensitivity receiver, so it holds a strong position fix even under tree cover, in canyons and other challenging terrain.
Can I use it for both road trips and the backcountry?
Yes. It ships with preloaded City Navigator street maps for turn-by-turn driving directions and TopoActive topographic maps for off-road and trail navigation, so one device covers both.
How long does the battery last?
The internal rechargeable lithium-ion pack delivers up to 18 hours in GPS mode and more than 300 hours in Expedition mode for multi-day trips.
Is it tough enough for serious use?
It is built to U.S. military standards (MIL-STD-810) for thermal, shock, water and vibration resistance, carries an IPX7 water rating, and uses chemically strengthened glass over the 5" touchscreen.
Does it come with the manufacturer warranty?
Yes. As an authorized Garmin reseller, every Montana 750i we ship is brand-new, fully authentic and backed by the full Garmin manufacturer warranty.
