Description
Garmin built the fēnix line for people who treat the outdoors as a second office, and the 9 Pro is the most capable version yet. The case is machined titanium for the first time in the fēnix family, which drops weight without giving up the abuse tolerance the series is known for. Over it sits the largest and brightest screen Garmin has ever fitted to a fēnix, an AMOLED panel that stays legible in direct desert sun and dims down far enough to keep your night vision on a 3 a.m. trailhead start.
The headline upgrade is what happens when you leave coverage. Order the inReach version and the watch carries both LTE and satellite radios. On LTE you can place and take voice calls and send messages through the Garmin Messenger app with your phone left at camp. Once you are past the last tower, the same watch links to satellite for message check ins, weather forecasts and an interactive SOS staffed around the clock by the Garmin Response team. Plans are activated through Garmin directly, so there is no carrier to switch and no separate device to carry.
For training, the 9 Pro carries Garmin's full performance stack. Enhanced stamina metrics read your endurance against your recent fitness and training history rather than a generic curve. Training readiness tells you whether today is a day to push or back off. Endurance score, hill score, race predictor, PacePro and daily suggested workouts round it out, and running economy and running tolerance give distance athletes a picture of how efficiently they move and how much load their body is absorbing.
Navigation is handled by multicontinent TopoActive mapping with multi band positioning underneath it. Dynamic round trip routing builds a loop from your front door on the distance you ask for. NextFork tells you what is coming at the next junction before you get there. Up Ahead marks your aid stations and water sources on a course. SkiView maps cover named runs at thousands of resorts, and full color CourseView maps cover more than 43,000 golf courses.
Featured Highlights

Built to Take a Beating
The largest display ever fitted to a fēnix, a 1.5 inch AMOLED reaching 3,000 nits, sits behind a scratch resistant sapphire lens. Leakproof metal buttons, an integrated LED flashlight and the first titanium fēnix case round it out. Dive rated and tested to U.S. military standards for thermal, shock and water resistance.

Reachable Anywhere
On LTE you get voice calls, messaging and LiveTrack location sharing straight from the wrist. Off grid, the inReach radio takes over so you can send check ins and pull weather forecasts once a satellite link is established, with no phone connection required.

Interactive SOS, Staffed 24/7
Trigger an SOS over satellite or LTE and you are connected to the Garmin Response coordination center, staffed every hour of every day. Emergency SOS messaging stays free for up to 12 months after the trial period ends.

Train With Real Numbers
More than 100 activity profiles sit alongside Garmin's deepest performance toolkit. Enhanced stamina metrics track how your endurance is shifting based on actual fitness gains and training history, not a generic template.

Maps That Keep Up
Multicontinent TopoActive maps render smoother and read more clearly, with dynamic round trip routing, the NextFork map guide and grade adjusted running pace built in.

Tell the Whole Story
Record, revisit and share several days of activity as one continuous story, complete with photos plus the health and performance numbers behind the trip.
