Description
The full-size Crooked River is a beautiful knife that a lot of people buy and then leave in a drawer, because 5.41 ounces is a commitment. The Mini solves that. Benchmade kept the stabilized wood, the machined bolsters, the clip point profile and the AXIS lock, and took roughly two ounces and half an inch of blade out of it.
What is left is a knife that still handles field dressing and camp work but is genuinely pocketable the rest of the year. The 3.4 inch blade sits right in the sweet spot for a general-purpose folder, and the CPM-S30V takes a fine edge for the detail work that a hunting knife actually spends most of its time doing.

Common Questions
Mini or full-size Crooked River?
The Mini gives up 0.6 inch of blade and about two ounces. If the knife lives on your belt for a week of hunting, the full size is worth the weight. If it also has to be your everyday folder the rest of the year, take the Mini.
Will the wood handle hold up to field use?
Yes. Stabilized wood is resin-impregnated through the whole block, so it will not swell, crack or absorb moisture. It needs no oiling, just wipe it clean and dry.
