How does the camera stay powered while using this solar panel?
The solar panel charges its own built-in battery, and that battery powers the camera.
Do I need the rechargeable internal battery to use the solar panel?
No, you can use the solar panel with any (or no) batteries installed in the camera. For the greatest reliability and fewest trips to the field, we recommend using both the solar panel and the rechargeable battery.
Can I use the solar panel with AA batteries in the camera?
Yes. The camera will consume power from the solar panel battery first, and the AAs will act as a backup power source. The solar panel will not attempt to charge AAs.
