Description
The ZULU6 HDX PRO 14x50 is Sig Sauer's 50mm image stabilized binocular in its lowest magnification. A gyro-stabilized optical system cancels the shake that normally makes 14x glass hard to hold by hand, so you can pick apart distant terrain from a truck window, a ridge or a stand without setting up a tripod. This version wears Flat Dark Earth rubber armor and weighs a little over two pounds.
PRO models differ from the standard ZULU6 HDX in three main ways. They move up to 50mm objectives, they use the HDX PRO glass and prism package that Sig rates for 25 percent better light transmission, and they run OmniScan stabilization. OmniScan reads your movement with a digital accelerometer and adds more stabilization as you slow down, so there are no modes to toggle. Two AA batteries sit on opposite sides of the body for balance.
Of the three 50mm PRO models, the 14x gives the longest eye relief at 18 mm and the steadiest view, which makes it a comfortable pick for long glassing sessions and for eyeglass wearers. The binocular is IPX7 waterproof and fogproof, shuts itself off after 10 minutes to save power, and accepts Sig's ZULU6 HDX PRO tripod adapter, sold separately. A foam carrying case, neck strap and batteries come with it.
