The full-size Adira is a boat knife. The Mini is the version that also works as your everyday folder. Benchmade took nearly seven tenths of an inch off the blade and over an ounce off the weight, but left the handle almost exactly as thick, which is the detail that matters. A slim handle on a wet-weather knife defeats the purpose.
What you get is a 3.21 inch MagnaCut drop point that shrugs off salt and sweat, in a knife that closes at 4.25 inches and disappears in a pocket. It is a strong argument for anyone who wants one knife for the dock, the tackle box and everything else.

Mini or full-size Adira?
The Mini gives up 0.67 inch of blade and about an ounce, and comes plain edge only. If the knife lives on a boat, the full size gives you more reach and a serrated option. If it also has to be your daily carry, take the Mini.
Can I use this in saltwater?
MagnaCut is the most corrosion-resistant steel Benchmade offers and the Adira was designed for it. No steel is immune, so rinse it in fresh water and dry it after saltwater exposure.
What is LifeSharp?
Benchmade will clean, oil, adjust and resharpen your knife to a factory edge for free, for as long as you own it. You cover shipping to them.
