Description
The Meatcrafter fills a gap most hunters work around with a kitchen knife. Field knives are short, thick and curved for skinning. Breaking down a carcass on a table needs the opposite: length, a thin grind and a continuous edge you can pull through a muscle in one stroke.
That is what this is. Six inches of trailing point at 0.09 inch stock, in S45VN so it can be washed, wiped and put away wet without rust becoming a problem. It works equally well on large fish, and plenty of people end up using it in the kitchen rather than only after a hunt.

Common Questions
Is this a field knife?
Not really. At eleven inches overall with a thin six inch blade, it is made for processing at camp or on a table. For field dressing and skinning take the Saddle Mountain Skinner or the Hidden Canyon Hunter.
Can I put it in the dishwasher?
No. Wash by hand and dry it. Dishwasher heat and detergent are hard on any knife edge and on the G10 scales, and S45VN is corrosion-resistant rather than corrosion-proof.
What is LifeSharp?
Benchmade will clean, oil, adjust and resharpen your knife to a factory edge for free, for as long as you own it. You cover shipping to them.
